The Market in 2015: A Year in Review

The state of the local real estate market is good.

That’s the conclusion that Michael Adams, president of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services | Aspen Snowmass Properties, reached after reviewing all activity in 2015 and putting together his detailed annual analysis of the local market.

In general, 2015 was a banner year for many sectors of the local economy, signaling a continuing return to near-normalcy from the recent recession. Growth in sales tax revenues, lodging occupancy, construction activity, and real estate all heralded this revival. Continue reading

Aspen Club Residences Are On The Way

Sales and construction have begun on The Aspen Club Residences, the long-awaited private residence club on The Aspen Club campus tucked away under the eastern flank of Aspen Mountain just a couple of blocks from the downtown core.

Three Feet in Three Days! What a Winter …

A couple of potent storms recently delivered 37 inches of snow to local slopes, giving just about everyone the chance to enjoy deep powder during three days in a row of double-digit snowfall: one on a weekend and then back-to-back snow days for valley schools. All this snow has left Aspen/Snowmass looking like a winter wonderland — snow piled impossibly high on tree branches, cars buried in white mounds, and streets narrowed to almost tunnels by ever-growing piles of snow plowed onto either side (and sometimes in the middle).

But winter has been good to us even before this week’s epic storm. The story of this winter has been consistent but small amounts of snowfall — a couple inches here, a few more there — that have added up to one mighty fine season. Continue reading
