The Best of Fall Biking and Hiking: Sky Mountain Park

How often is it that you have the opportunity to explore an entirely new trail system?

Sky Mountain Park officially debuted to the public in 2011, with two new trails. But this year alone, three more trails have been added, giving bikers and hikers a slew of connecting options on the scrub-brush and gambel-oak-covered, 2,500-acre ridge dividing the Brush Creek and Owl Creek valleys.

New Luxury Townhomes Coming to Basalt

Luxury living in Basalt is getting a rare boost with the final phase of development of The Wilds, a managed townhome community just above the historic downtown and nestled in the wilderness of Basalt Mountain.

After a multi-year hiatus, three of the luxury, four-bedroom Wilds residences are coming online in the next several months (one is already listed in the MLS and will be finished by the end of September), and two more duplexes will follow within two years. Continue reading

The Best of September

Many a local has been known to proclaim, “Outside of [summer/winter], September is my favorite season.” And for good reason. After the bustle of summer (this one more so than any in recent memory), the crowds disappear; the weather usually clears, giving way to warm, sunny Indian summer days and crisp, clear nights; hiking and biking is at its finest with the ideal conditions and changing foliage; and obviously, there’s the fall colors, which turn the entire valley into a magical, multi-colored landscape.
